What should I do to make an intro for Youtube?

In order to create a YouTube intro, you need to download and install a video editor. I recommend Movavi Video Editor Plus, one of the best and easiest to use. To start, download the program directly from the Movavi website and install it.

Install the YouTube Intro Maker

Start the installation file and follow the on-screen instructions. The program will run automatically once the installation process is complete.

Start creating the intro for Youtube

The first thing you have to do is create a new project. To do this, click on New project and go to the “Video intro” tab. There you can select one of the presets available in the program or create one from scratch. Whatever your decision, drag the box you select onto the timeline at the bottom of the program window.

Now click on the “Edit this intro” icon, this will open the intro edit mode.

Select the background of your intro

Let’s start with the background. Open the “My Files” tab, click Add Media and find the image or video you have chosen for the intro. You can use both types of media formats to create your background. In our case, we will use a still image, as they are much easier for beginners to use.

Choose the musical background for your intro

There are 2 types of audio files that you can integrate into your intro: files that you have stored on your pc or files that the program brings in its default library.

  • To add a multimedia file from the pc: click on “Add multimedia files” once more, and select the audio track of your preference in the same way that you added the background image.
  • To add files from the Movavi library: click Music and select one of the options, then add the audio track by dragging the file.

If the audio is too long for the intro you’re creating (for example, if you only want to use a small section of a song), you’ll have to cut it out. Select the music in the audio track, locate where you want to cut, and click Split.

Now click on the piece of audio you don’t need and press Delete. Repeat the process as many times as necessary to remove all unwanted parts of the audio. If the music is somewhere on the timeline away from the video track, click and drag it to the beginning of the audio track.

If the audio has been cut, it may end abruptly, so to avoid this and make the end smoother, it is worth considering adding a fade effect to the audio.

Double-click the audio to open the Tools panel. Locate the Fade slider and set it to 1 second. This is enough for a short video as an intro. Of course, you can choose the length of the fade yourself.

Also, make sure your background matches the music on the timeline. Adjust the length of your background by dragging the right edge of the image on the video track.

Add a title to your intro

In this section, you can add a title, which can be the name of your channel.

Open the Titles tab and select one of the many presets included in the program. To add a title to the video, drag and drop the preset on the Title Track and adjust it to the length of the intro by dragging the edges of the timeline.

Double-click the timeline title to edit the text. You can enter the text you need, change the color, font, and size of characters, and even speed up or slow down the animation. To accept the changes, click Apply.

Save the intro for later use

It’s time to save your intro. Click Apply and return to exit the intro edit mode.

You will see the newly created intro on the timeline. Click on the floppy disk icon in the upper left corner of the intro and enter a name in the pop-up window. When you click OK, the intro will appear along with the other templates in the intro videos tab. It’s now ready for you to use and edit whenever you want.

If you decide to make changes to the intro, create a new project, add your intro to the timeline and click the Edit this intro icon, this will reopen the intro edit mode.

This way, you can create any type of intro for YouTube using Movavi YouTube Intro Maker, it’s fast and easy to use. Don’t waste time and give your youtube channel that personalization touch it needs.
